Slice of Life 15: On Slices of Life and Slices of Pie

Okay, so I’m a day late and a pie short for Pi Day, but here are some thoughts nonetheless, on the connection between a slice of life and a slice of pie.
A unique mix of ingredients
crafted with care
savory or sweet
often both
whether big or small
best shared with others

Janice, thanks for the making the connections between the slices. I came across this Einstein quote in an article, “Albert Einstein’s Little-Known Correspondence with W.E.B. Du Bois on Race and Racial Justice.” “As long as I have any choice in the matter, I shall live only in a country where civil liberty, tolerance and equality of all citizens before the law prevail.” Everyone deserves their slice of the pi(e).

Love your musings on Pi/pie — on time/in time/late or early — your thoughts are worth waiting for . . . I’m enjoying reading your SOLs and the SOLs from people near and far. When I read the last line of your pithy poem “best shared with others” I was reminded that I love sharing pie/Pi in person whenever possible . . . hope to share pie or break bread with you in the near future

I’m glad you still added this poem a day after pi day! Your connections are spot on. My daughter is in France and posted yesterday on facebook: Pi day is really difficult to explain to people who think today’s date is 14/03…interesting perspective, I thought!
